Chequered Flag Signals Launch Of Formule 1 At Sydney Olympic Park
The Formule 1 at Sydney Olympic Park launches on 13th August 2008, with rates from just $89 per room per night. The 156-room F1 signals a new era for the popular budget brand, with sleek new rooms and a modern exterior in keeping with the design philosophy of the surrounding world-class venues of the Olympic precinct. The $19 million Formule 1, located on Edwin Flack Avenue, provides affordable accommodation right in the heart of the action, across the road from ANZ Stadium and just a short stroll from Acer Arena and the Aquatic Centre. It is set to become popular with concert goers and sporting fans attending nearby events, but is also aimed at regional, interstate and international visitors on a budget and at savvy business travellers.
Should the proposed V8 Supercar race go ahead in the precinct, the Formule 1 will also be the obvious choice for race fans wanting to get a taste of the action without breaking the bank.
As the largest and newest Formule 1 in Australia, the hotel will set new standards in budget accommodation, with rooms catering for up to four people and newly designed interiors that make even better use of space, plus a departure from the traditional colours into more subtle and sophisticated hues.
Throughout the year, Sydney Olympic Park offers endless activity, hosting musical concerts, major exhibitions, sporting events, markets, family entertainment and more. The Formule 1 offers plenty of leisure options for the whole family – for example, Dad will love enjoy the state-of-the-art Olympic venues and golf driving range; Mum will enjoy the picturesque parklands and nearby discount shopping at DFO Warehouse; while the kids will have fun on the giant waterslides at the Sydney Aquatic Centre, the Qasar Trapeze school and the BMX monster skate park.
The new Formule 1 will complement Accor’s existing Novotel and Ibis complex, with a five-star Pullman hotel set to open on the site in September. This will bring the total number of rooms operated by Accor within Sydney Olympic Park to 689 and signals Accor’s confidence in the growth of this vibrant precinct.
The launch also comes at a time when the State Government has released its Sydney Olympic Park Masterplan, aiming to more than triple the number of residents and businesses in the precinct by 2030.
The Formule 1 Sydney Olympic Park will be the eighth Formule 1 in the Sydney area and joins a network of 19 F1s in Australia.
Formule 1 hotels offer the best value accommodation in key urban and regional centres, with convenient access to major transport routes. There are over 380 Formule 1 hotels globally and 21 across Australia and New Zealand.
